Time to Celebrate!

Well hello hello hello!!! Can you believe it? it just seems like yesterday that we started on our journey of designing crochet patterns and just like that we have completed 10 years!!!!

We are a day late in announcing our celebration as our anniversary coincides with the Tamil New Year’s day – April 14th! Puthandu ,a tamil word for New Year, follows the Solar Calendar which means it falls on the same date every year on the Gregorian Calendar ie April 14th!

Would love to share a few tidbits about my home state’s festivities!

Puthandu coincides with the beginning of the Tamil month of Chithirai, which marks the start of spring. It’s a time to celebrate new beginnings and harmony with nature.

Colourful and intricate floor art called Kolam is created using rice powder in front of houses. These beautiful designs are believed to welcome prosperity and good luck.

This is what I drew in front of my apartment !

Eating Pongal with mango pachadi, families and loved ones enjoy the day together.

I started my journey of creating patterns in crochet because my daughter believed that I had it in me to design!

I get my inspiration to design from all that I see around me! Sometimes , it is a plant twirling its leaves around my balcony enclosure and at other times it is the colors I see in nature! But whatever it is I love to put in a lot of texture in my designs! An example of one such textured Scarf – Marmalade Scarf!

My daughter on the other hand goes for simplicity, elegance and laciness in her patterns!

I feel that we compliment each other very well and are able to bring a well rounded category of crochet patterns for the discerning crafter! Presenting some of our most loved patterns in the slideshow!

Our designing capabilities were put to the test when we ambitiously decided to bring out 15 patterns a month! We ran this phase of our design career successfully for a year but personal commitments has made us put this on hold as of now.

I am still in the process of adding all those patterns which were part of subscription package and I hope to do it soon!

How can we celebrate this milestone without thanking the most important person….. YOU , our fellow crocheter/knitter/crafter, who makes a decision to purchase our pattern! Thanks comes from the bottom of our hearts! Here are some of the projects made by crafters when we had organized a ViVaMakealong! Thanks so much for all your love support and encouragement that you have so freely given to us!

It would be therefore necessary to have a celebratory event to mark this milestone in our design career! I have designed a Bingo card with names of patterns that have been published in our Ravelry Store as well as in Payhip store(for those who have trouble accessing Ravelry).

You have 10 days to find the patterns in our store and get the pattern at a discounted price! No need to apply any code! all these patterns have the discount applied! And that’s not all! You get a bonus 10th pattern, the very first pattern that started us on this path also at a discounted price!

We would love to see your projects created from our patterns! So do remember to use the tags #ViVadesigns so we can enjoy your creations!

If you do have trouble with any of the patterns, we are just an email away!

Let’s start the event without much ado! Good Luck and Happy crafting!

Click on the logo to take you to our Ravelry Store where you can search for these patterns!

And here is the 10th pattern !

A picture is worth a thousand words! I hope you will continue to support us in all our endeavors as we strive to fill this world with beautiful makes , one crochet pattern at a time!

Have a wonderful day ! Stay safe and healthy , crafting your worries away!
