New Arrival !

It is clearly March Madness happening here !!! Well, Hold your horses!!!!! There is no new arrival here in my human world but there is in my craft world!!!!

After the successful run of my freebie coaster pattern that was featured on the International Women’s Day as part of another blog hop, I am here again inviting my crafting buddies to welcome another of my pattern into your crafting nook!:)

Audrey of Canoe Mountain Designs is hosting a crochet for babies event! From March 10th until March 22nd you can get any of the participating designs for just 2$! I have teamed up with Audrey and other fabulous designers to present a curated pack of baby designs! Presenting the list of participating designers!

I haven’t designed a blanket in quite some time now ! The last one I designed was in September 2020!

The blanket was made up of 5 unique designs to go with the theme of monsoon memoirs with a team of 12 talented designers from InDesCo . The blanket was named Mazhaikalam( means rainy season in my mothertongue, Tamil). This pattern was very well received and yet I shied away from making more blankets!

This time around when Audrey came up with the theme , I decided straightaway that I would make a blanket! However , the yarn and colour that I picked for my design were both out of stock! Hence I redesigned the blanket to make it suitable for a baby’s car seat!

After the initial brainstorming and couple of sketches, I wanted to try Waterfall Crochet Technique that I had seen online! Saw a few pictures and told myself , ” how hard can this be, I got this”!!! Never have I been so wrong!!!!

But I really liked the way the design came up so I continued with it! Presenting to you the Icicle Dance Car seat blanket without much ado!

The right side…

And the wrong side….

The beauty of this pattern is you can stop at two different stages without losing the design element and make smaller squares that you can later join and make it a bigger blanket!

My team of testers did a fabulous job and got the pattern ready to be published!

Here are some of the thoughts that they shared with me!

” it is a fun pattern that even a newbie crocheter like me could do it once I did a couple of icicles”

“the pattern is well written and I enjoyed making it”

I have to thank my tech editor Dina for meticulously combing through the pattern and correcting typos, help me write it out in such a way that there is uniformity and last but not the least , helping with stitch count!

Thanks goes out to all my testers for doing such a wonderful job!

You can find the pattern for this Car seat blanket in my Ravelry store or Payhip store. On Ravelry once you add the pattern to cart the price change will be reflected. On Payhip too the discount is already applied!
