“Today will never come again. Be a blessing. Be a friend. Encourage someone. Take time to care. Let your words heal, and not wound.” Unknown

I would like to add : ” Let your hands create something with love to wrap those in need of love and comfort”

February is dedicated as the Cancer Prevention and Awareness Month by several American Health Institutions. The Crochet Designer Community on Facebook has been coming out with a month long event to spread some comfort to those suffering from Cancer.

The Crochet Designers Community on Facebook will feature a designer a day starting from Feb 1st 2024 through to Feb 28th 2024. Do pop in to the page to get the discount code that can be used to get the pattern featured!

Several Crochet Designers have come up with beautiful and thoughtful crochet patterns that will bring some comfort to those in need.

We at ViVaCrochet decided to design a scarf to help bring some comfort and love to those in need . The Iced Velvet Beanie that was released in Jan 2024 was the inspiration!

Why a scarf , do I hear you ask? Well , when my father became quite ill in 2022 and requested me to make him some scarves! With his mobility becoming nonexistent , he would often feel cold. Coupled with the fact that it takes just a couple of evenings to make this scarf, I decided to offer this pattern for the Cancer Cozy Comforts blog hop!

The Beanie which was released in Jan 2024 and the inspiration for the scarf below!

The pattern uses two different yarns Nako Vega and Nako Ombre both purchased from Magic Needles online store India.

The yarns work seamlessly together even though one of them, Nako Ombre, is marked as bulky:( The transition from a beanie pattern to a scarf was also seamless and the fact that the ribbing could be converted to the edge rows was something we enjoyed a lot during the design stage!

We hope that you enjoy making the scarf as much as we enjoyed designing it!

We also could not just stop with giving just one pattern for this hop! We have two quite similar scarf patterns which we thought will go well with the theme of giving comfort!

The Raspberry Jam Scarf and the Velvet Pearls Scarf were designed in 2021 and was available only as part of subscription based patterns. We have recently added these patterns as well to our Ravelry and Payhip stores.

Like the Raspberry Jam beanie and the Velvet Pearls Beanie , these two scarves will be available as an e-book on Ravelry and Payhip at a discounted price for the same duration as the Iced Velvet Scarf. The discounts for the ebook is already applied!

To get the Iced Velvet Scarf pattern at 50% off , please visit the Crochet designers Community group on Facebook to get the Code and the link to the pattern. Clicking on the image below will take you to the host page!

For those who have difficulty accessing Ravelry, you can click the image below which will take you to the Payhip store for the same pattern with the discount already applied!

Presenting to you some of the amazing patterns that are part of this awesome blog hop!
