Let’s Build Our Skills!

Hello Everyone! Arriving late to write for this year but better late than never:)

Wishing you all a safe , healthy and prosperous New Year! May this Year bring peace, love and joy into our lives!

Kicking off this New Year by participating in a Crochet Skill Building blog hop hosted by Tasha Margette, I am bringing to you not one but 3 patterns!

If you have followed me on any social media , you would have noticed that I love designing Beanies, Scarves the most!

I love playing around with colors and textures! My go to stitches are often V stitch (dc, ch1, dc) , Cluster (where you make 2 or 3 incomplete dc and finish them off together), Post stitches! These lend themselves very nicely to creating patterns!

As for colors, I absolutely love working with multiple colors! Ever since I found out how to carry color from Tiffany of Daisy Farm Crafts, I have enjoyed creating designs with multiple colors! My favorite are my granny squares that I have created using this technique and I can assure you that my yarns never get tangled!

Keeping these two features in mind , I set about designing the IcedVelvet Beanie! The Nako Vega and Nako Ombre yarns that I purchased from Magic Needles were the perfect match for the pattern!

As I sat down to write the pattern , I noticed that I had made a mistake and not wanting to rip it out (as this was one of the instances that I had put in the ends as soon as I finished the last stitch), decided to make another! I was able to better tweak the pattern and liked the finished beanie better than the prototype!

After working on the two beanies, I thought that this beanie needs a matching scarf! And I am happy to say that the scarf design practically flew off my hook and will be ready soon! A sneak peek of it will be revealed on social media tomorrow! The reason I am mentioning the details is because I am so thrilled that one ball of each color gave me two beanies, and half a scarf! Let me share the picture of the IcedVelvet Beanie without much further ado!

There are 31 designs for this blog hop from some of the most talented and amazing crochet designers!
