March has walked in with a purpose and I am just sitting down to welcome this month! I was just reading my previous post and allowed myself a wry smile. I had written that February is the shortest and sweetest month but to me it felt like February wanted to stay and enjoy what we had to offer her.
February also saw a wonderful group of crochet designers had a lovely month bringing to you some of the most beautiful and thoughtful gifts for patients who are terminally ill. I did write about this joint effort but due to the nature of this particular blog hop I had to make it available for subscribers only. If you are interested in not missing out on such promotions do hit the subscribe button to follow me on the blog. This is especially useful if you are not into social media!
Alright so what does March have in store ?? A lot 🙂 Crafters in the US celebrate March as the National Crochet Month and I am going to do so too! I have a scarf, a beanie, and a baby blanket all set to release this month!
You are already aware I am part of the Global Crochet Collaboration with crochet designers from around the world. We bring you 3 free patterns every month! Each month will feature 3 crochet designers.

Welcoming the second week of March and the official last 12 days of Winter before Spring sets in is this Sunset Dreams scarf by yours truly :p)

This is a quick and easy textured pattern which uses simple Double crochet and Treble crochet stitches to create the texture! It is a 4 row repeat (because I wanted the Trebles to be staggered). The yarn I used is a gift from my brother! Please allow me to digress here:)
Mid 2023 I received a huge box filled with the yummiest of the yarns , with no note inside (or outside ) . No I did not order yarn and foget about it! It seems that my youngest brother decided to surprise me and was asking my daughter what kind of yarns I buy and where I get them from. Now my daughter is also an avid crocheter and designer rattled off some names of yarns! Fast Forward to July 2023 and the said box! While I was breaking my head who it could possibly be from (yes my daughter had forgotten this conversation with her uncle), my cook tells me that it could be a new scam and not touch the yarns as it might be someone asking for money!
After careful consideration , I decided that yarn is yarn and it is my good Karma that has brought it here to me! So saying I adopted these yarns:) Then a flashback strikes my daughter at this precise moment and she remembered the source!

This year saw them come out to play and get transformed into beautiful beanies and scarves. The first of which is the Sunset Dreams Neckwarmer. The reason I made it into a neckwarmer is because I thought I wouldn’t have enough for a full length scarf! Boy was I wrong:) I used only 83 gms and have 92 gms left! I used crochet hook 5 mm to make this project!
I hope you enjoy making this simple and elegant pattern while you wait for Spring to make her appearance:)
