Hi everyone, I am back at my blogosphere typing away the story of the Geeks And Gamers blog hop that I am participating in.
I don’t know about you all but in my family everyone (except moi) is a gamer! So it is only natural that I jump into this event ! I don’t game that much but I have played several arcade games in the past and enjoy word games and puzzles now.
For this hop , I decided to make a design based on these arcade games. As I sat with my grid note-book , I started doodling Pacman like monsters and thought why not try and convert that into a granny square!
During 2021-2022 I sketched and designed several patterns based on the solid granny squares. Each square in my grid notbook became 2 double crochets with 5 double crochets in the corner! Here are a few of my favourites from that period ..
So I started in earnest and sent the pattern for tech editing! As my tech editor was correcting my typos and stitch counts , I went back to my notebook. I felt that something was missing:)
I resketched the design and sent the new version out for a once over.
Presenting The Gobbler Granny Square which you can turn into a blanket component or use it to make a cushion cover ! Either way any 80’s kid will be happy to own this 🙂
I tried something new with this pattern writing p) I created a chart using Stitch fiddle and added that chart to the written file to help in visualising the pattern . It is easier to count squares once you get the hang of it 🙂
I even managed to find my son’s old Nintendo and game cartridge!
