Now that we have the “how it works” thingy out of the way, I would like to share a little something about the pattern that I have coming up for this blog hop.
When Pam approached us for joining her in this blog hop, I jumped right in. This is her fourth year of runnning this blog hop and I am super excited to be a part of this.
I conduct beginner level crochet workshops and in one such session after teaching the participants how to chain, I proceeded to explain how to make the Single Crochet stitch. I did not want them to work over tens of chains that they had made and so asked them to rip and remake with just 11 chains. The purpose was to show how easy it is to rip and redo and teach them how to count chains and stitches 🙂
While most of the participants obliged , a few always lament that they did a beautiful length of chain and now it has to be undone.
This was the starting point to my design. A pattern that will make use of the chain in a way that a beginner crocheter can be proud of. This sentiment was echoed by one of my testers who also teaches crochet – “It’s a really quick make and beginner friendly too… They all start with long chains.. put to good use here”
Presenting the woven coaster…ta daaa…

The base is a circle mesh and the chain is added later to give it some colour and flair!
My testers have done an amazing job and their valuable time and effort make it possible for me to bring you a pattern that is 99.9% error free (sonetimes the typos do creep in)
