Cancer Cozy Comforts

Hello February! Let us take the time to focus on what truly warms our soul! I like to see February, the shortest month, as a time for second chances, as a time to declutter and let go of things that no longer serve you and as a time to get ready to welcome Spring!

For a third year in a row, in the month of February , a group of crochet designers who are a part of the Crochet Designers Communty on Facebook, get together and bring to all you wonderful makers a lovely collection of patterns that spell cozy, love and comfort.

February is cancer prevention month and we would like to raise awareness and show our support to those suffering from Cancer.

Let me start with a visual and then go on to explain how this works:)

.

Starting from Feb 1st 2026, we will be offering cozy comfort crochet patterns for $2 each. This event in until the 14th Feb 2026. We encourage you to show your support and help raise awareness.

Be sure to check out the Crochet Designer Community FB page daily for the coupon code and for the featured pattern for the day.

For this blog hop I am participating under my design banner , ViVaCr0chet and present to you the Velvet Sweetheart beanie.

I designed this while I was making the Mother of Parl beanie and the Mint Twist beanie! If you have worked on any of my patterns you would have noticed that I love textures and liberally use front post stitches to create motifs!

The same happened with this design too! As I was making these stitches, they automatically created the heart motifs:) I swear I wasn’t even trying to create hearts;) Yes another tell tale sign in my designs is the use of hearts :p)

Immediately I decided that this would be the one I will offer for the Cancer Cozy Comforts blog hop!

Some technical details about the beanie –

It is worked top down, uses 2 colours along with a 4 mm hook and fits an adult medium (20″-22″ circumference). My testers loved working on this pattern and I am sure you would too , should you choose to get the pattern.

I am also offering another Beanie pattern for the same event and this is called Heart Drops Beanie ( See I told you I love making patterns with hearts in them hahaha).

This is an older pattern but I really wanted to share this as part of the blog hop.

I was touched to read this note for the project on Ravelry..

“I honestly don’t know why this pattern has so few projects here on Ravelry. This is an excellent pattern, so enjoyable to make. Fun and interesting, very pretty and relatively easy to make.”
